大熊貓屬食肉目大熊貓科，與熊類是表兄弟。其體型似熊，頭大而圓，身體肥胖，尾巴極短。一般成年大熊貓體長在120－180厘米，體重60－11公斤。軀干和尾白色，兩耳、眼周及四肢全黑。

大熊貓主要棲息于海拔800－3000米的山區森林中，其喜愛在針葉林帶、針闊混交林帶以及落葉闊葉林帶的竹林內活動，主要以竹莖、竹葉和竹筍為食。大熊貓有一定區域的家域，夏季和秋冬季活動區域有所不同，夏季多在海拔較高的區域活動。大多數時間，大熊貓喜歡單獨活動，但是近兩年在秦嶺進行的大熊貓監測活動發現，既是在冬季和春季，也經常能見到幾只在一起的大熊貓，在春季更容易見到3－4只在一起的大熊貓。

大熊貓行動緩慢，性情溫順，視覺、聽覺都較差，很少有攻擊行為，捕食能力也較差。因此，其主要以竹子為食，也偶食小型動物或其它草類。

天空中飛著一只燕子和蜻蜓，燕子對蜻蜓說：“妹子，人類太不像話了，我們家族自從去年以來數量銳減，就這殺蟲劑惹的禍，有的沒蟲子吃餓死了，有的吃了有毒的蟲子被毒死了，還有的不小心吸入了殺蟲劑呼吸衰竭而死，我擔心以后我們會滅絕呀!”蜻蜓連說：“是呀是呀，我們生存得靠水，可是人們用完殺蟲劑就把瓶子隨手扔到河里，水有毒了，我們產不了仔，也快滅絕了!”它們邊飛邊說，忽然一陣風夾著刺鼻的味道吹來，它們急忙落在小河邊。剛要休息，看到一只奄奄一息的青蛙趴在枯樹根下，青蛙無力地說：“我快不行了，人們往河里排污水、丟垃圾，水都污染了，青蛙跑了三成，死了七成，我也很快就要死了。人有病知道求醫，我們有病了求誰呀?”這時，晃晃蕩蕩地走來了狼，動物們剛想跑，狼擺擺手，“我們家族都快被獵人獵殺光了，我們能吃的動物也快滅絕了，活著太奢侈了，我不會吃你們的?！眲游飩兤咦彀松啵秸f越氣憤，越說越傷心，唏噓不止。

吃完早飯，叔叔帶我去了廣州動物園。

廣州動物園好大呀！有猴山、虎山、蛇館、熊貓館、鳥林、魚池……動物園里的路彎彎曲曲的，每拐一個彎就能看見一種不同的動物。動物園里的動物種類非常多，有天上飛的，地上走的，山上爬的……有食草的，有食肉的，有吃植物果實的……
