The Journal of Middle East Women's Studies is an interdisciplinary academic journal dedicated to advancing the field of gender, sexuality and women's studies in the Middle East. The journal offers a diverse and international perspective by bringing together the contributions of scholars, artists and activists from around the world to promote a deeper understanding and analysis of gender issues in the region.
The journal has a special focus on the academic study of transnational feminism, sexuality, masculinity, and cultural theory. These studies involve not only theoretical discussions, but also practical social and cultural phenomena to provide a multidimensional interpretation of gender issues in the Middle East. The journal encourages the use of historical, ethnographic, literary, textual, and visual analysis to reveal the complexity and diversity of gender and sexuality in Middle Eastern societies.
