I asked my mother: “Where is the lush, tall grass?” As puzzled as me, she said nothing. I was shocked to see the differences between the grassland in my dream and what was in front of me.
On the way home, I thought a lot and tried to find answers.
Now I am old enough to bring awareness to other people and share my dream for the grasslands. Overgrazing and extensive farming have ruined the grassland and so taken away the charm of our homeland. But I am confident that one day the grasslands will recover and its true wealth and beauty will be realized as long as everybody gives his contribution to restore our homeland.

一、多維一體化英語教學模式的基本框架
傳統的英語教學從活動角度將教學劃分為教、學、管三要素,其缺點在于不能顯示學生在教學中的主體地位,基本上忽視了學校教育條件的制約作用。按照系統論的觀點,系統整體的功能大于各孤立部分之和,亦即1+1>2。沒有結構、沒有整體功能的系統是不存在的。從系統論的觀點出發,多維一體化英語教學模式研究揭示了構成英語教學有效性的主要維度,以及維度間的相互作用,并通過對多維加以優化,構成了一個有機的整體,從而較為有效地解決了英語教學中的許多疑難問題,順利實現了英語教學的總目標。
從上圖可以看出,多維一體化教學模式的主要維度有:環境、教師、學生、教材、教學方法和學習過程。環境包括社會環境和語言環境,環境影響教師的英語目標設計,也影響教師和學生的心理活動,甚至對教學過程、教學效果都產生影響。而英語的總體目標又反過來影響環境建設;教師的一切行為受制于總目標,他通過教材、環境等媒介影響學生。而學生除了受外部因素的影響之外,還受內部因素影響,例如:最佳學習年齡、語言潛能、個性和情感條件等。所以教師應注意發揮學生學習的潛能、發展學生的個性,培養其積極向上的情感態度,創設良好的學習條件,以取得最好的學習效果。教師在教學中應該幫助學生形成適合自己的學習策略,并使學生具備不斷調節自己的學習策略的能力,這樣才有利于形成學生的學習自主性。由于教和學的方法得當,在教學過程中,師生就會較順利地完成英語教學目標。
二、多維一體化英語教學模式的總體目標
明確中職生的學習需要和目標,對英語學習表現出較強的自信心。能就日常生活的各種話題與外國人進行一般交流,并簡單陳述自己的觀點。聽:聽懂接近正常語速、熟悉話題的短文,能抓住所聽語段中的關鍵詞,理解句子之間的邏輯關系。說:能有條理地描述個人體驗和表達個人的見解。能就日常話題與外國人進自由交談,并闡述自己觀點。讀:要求認知單詞4000左右,能順利閱讀一般性的文章,獲取自身需要的信息。能讀英文報紙。寫:能流利表達自己的觀念,寫出連貫且結構完整的短文約200-300字左右。文體規范、語句通順流暢。
三、中等職業學校多維一體化英語教學的維度
(一)環境
在中等職業學校英語教學中,環境是非常重要的一維,包括周圍使用外語的人數和場合、官方媒介、總體外語水平等。環境對英語教學的作用最重要的就是體現在學生的愿學、樂學。濃烈的學習氛圍例如:良好的班風、優雅的教室布置、具有外語氣息的校園環境等,能提高學生的學習能力,使他們學得愉快而又順利。
(二)教師
教師在英語教學交流中起維持內穩態的重要作用。學校所有的教學及管理活動都是依靠教師來完成的。英語教學質量的高低,一方面取決于他們的素質、水平、能力,另一方面又取決于教師主動還是被動、積極還是消極的工作態度,取決于教師協調合作的程度。某些職業學校所采取的“崗位責任制”及強調各個級組與各職能部門之間的協合,也是旨在追求英語教師能量的最大釋放及他們的未來發展。
(三)學生
學生是教學的主體,英語課教學就是要讓學生去掌握英語,使學生愿學,樂學,消除學習英語的心理障礙,掌握學習的策略,形成自學能力。只有在尋求知識的動態過程中,學生才能達到適應變化的目的。
(四)教材
在中等職業教育的環境下進行英語教學,教材是信息輸入的主渠道。教材所提供的信息是否充足,呈現的順序是否科學,各學段是否合理銜接,對教學效果影響很大。教材已不再單純是傳統意義上教科書,而是包括學生用書、練習冊、教師用書、錄音帶、錄象帶、VCD、DVD、CD-ROM及各種圖片、教具在內的系統教材。教材既有它穩定的一面,也有開放的一面,教師可根據學生實際情況添加或刪除部分教材。
(五)教學方法
許多英語教師的教學不講究科學方法,課堂教學仍舊采取“填鴨式”、“滿堂灌”,方法陳舊,喜歡“跟著自己的感覺走”,較少考慮學生的實際情況和需求。具體方法作為工具,教師應多加研究,多加創新。
(六)學習過程
學習過程是學生形成良好學習策略的過程。例如:能否為完成具體的學習任務而制訂詳細的計劃?能否反思、調整自己的學習方法?而給教師的啟示就是:要有意識地幫助學生形成適合于他們的學習策略,從而提高效率,促使學生學習成功。
四、中等職業學校多維一體化英語教學的操作層次
(一)校園英語化,英語生活化,活動串始終
1.三分鐘英語演講:每周的周二、周四,每次由班上選一人給全校作三分鐘的英語演講,演講的主題由老師確定,內容由學生寫,再經過老師訓練,以確保演講者的榜樣作用。
2.英語角:每天中午進行,由英語教師主持。每次都有一個主題,主題由英語教師確定,主題資料多是當周英語報上的時事、新聞,及其學生感興趣的話題。學生分組分批去參加活動,目的是使每個學生都有充分的機會學說英語。
3.英語興趣小組:每個星期一次,作為學生課外活動的一種形式,由學校的英語教師給學生組織活動及教授英語國家的文化。
4.課前兩分鐘演講:每一節英語課前,讓一個學生站在講臺上作兩分鐘的英語演講,輪流進行,每一位同學都必須參加。演講的主題由老師確定,演講稿由學生自己寫,再經過老師修改,由老師訓練。這樣,保證了每一位學生都能得到老師的個別輔導,加強了因材施教這一環節,有利于學生各盡所能。
5.英語廣播:每天分中午和晚餐之后進行兩次,由學生主持。主要用英文播送時事新聞和英文歌曲。
6.英語大使:為了在學生中樹立學習的榜樣,推廣口語,在學生中選出優秀學生做英語大使。他們負責接待外來參觀者,分別用中英文向來賓介紹學校情況。
7.節日活動:學校慶祝中西方主要節日,用雙語進行交流活動,并且利用節日向學生介紹中西文化。例如:每年一次的Halloween化裝舞會、Christmas carnival、Thanksgiving Day等等。
8.英語活動日:英語活動日是指由英語老師和外籍教師將學生帶到戶外,走出課室的另一種教學形式。例如:帶學生到麥當勞、Pizza Hut去參觀,在這種特定的環境下教會學生怎樣Order食物,或學一些特定的食物名稱等。
(二)師生人本化
“以人為本,促進發展”是中等職業學校處理師生關系的一條準則。就學校總體工作而言,“關心師生的日常生活,幫助師生的學習和工作”是第一要求。建議職業學校嚴把教師“入口”關,要求進入學校工作的英語教師發音要標準,口語要流暢,只有滿足了這個要求,才會去考慮其它條件。教師進校以后始終強化On-the-job training(在職培訓),每個星期都要組織全校英語教師進行業務培訓,有口語的,也有介紹最新外語教學方法的。同時,職業學校也可以通過建立“造星”機制,創造條件鼓勵師生去參加省、市、校級各種英語競賽活動,培養和發展師生的個性才能,對學校而言,意味著成功地培養和發展了教師和學生的個性才能。對個體而言,無疑是增加了他們自身的社會價值。

此外,師生人本化還體現在教師和學生融洽和信任的關系上。教師應當注重尊重學生、激勵學生。哪怕學生些微的進步,老師都給予表揚。在課堂上很少出現老師斥責學生的語言。良好的師生關系,愉悅的心理狀態,無疑為學生人格的健康發展提供了保障。
(三)教法靈活化
靈活即多變,教師根據中職生的具體情況,教學內容的變化,調整和創新自己的教學方法。對教材的處理,主要表現為“三活”:
1.把文字活化成話語。文字是死的,教師的教學就是把這些語言內容通過教師自己的語言或錄音、錄像活化成為有聲有色的話語。
2.把教材內容活化成實際生活。教學內容一旦遠離學生生活,語言學習就會顯得很遙遠,不自然。英語教師在處理教材內容時,通常由近及遠,充分利用周圍的教學資源,創設情景,讓學生的學習變得生動起來。
3.把教學活化為交際。英語教學的最終目的是要求學生學會交際,而把教學過程直接交際化則大大縮短了學生學習語言的時間,極大地提高了學習效率。例如:英語教師上的Theme Teaching(主題教學)就是如此。主題教學主要是為了訓練學生在特定的背景下學會與人交流,因此,建議職業學校創建主題教學室,一進入這間教室就有身臨其境的感覺。例如:這個月的主題是On the Flight,教師就把它布置成機艙的模樣,在座位標示哪個是Window seat。利用此環境進行模擬表演,請學生扮演機長、空姐、乘客,教學生怎樣辦理登機手續,如果在飛機上不適應如何處理等等。學生所學的語言知識一經利用,就達到了自然交際的目的。
(四)學習自主化
為了使學生自主學習,靈活運用學習策略,教師應努力創設英語環境,引導學生懷有愉悅的心情去參與各種語言實踐活動,敢于開口,獲得成功感,產生滿足感,從而激發學生強烈的學習動機,變“要我學”為“我要學”。另外,教師也要經常了解學生,問問學生需要什么策略,從而在教學中滲透學法,介紹學法,幫助學生總結學法,進行策略運用訓練等。

3.如何學?
4.何時使用?
5.如何使用?
(五)評價多元化
建立科學的評價體系是實現英語教學目標的重要保障,評價的確立標準主要是依據英語教學的總體目標和要求,通過對教學實施的全過程和結果進行有效監控。從而讓學生體會到自己的不斷進步,感受到自己不斷成功帶來的喜悅。通過教學反饋,使教師有效地調整自己的教學思想和行為,使學生及時調整自己的學習策略。把形成性評價和終結性評價結合起來,既關注結果,又關注過程。既關注學生知識的掌握程度和能力的提高,也關注他們的情感、態度、學習策略等其它許多方面,考試只是評價的手段之一。即使是考試,教師也一改過去那種只考筆試或筆試加聽力的做法,而是包括聽力、口試、筆試等在內的綜合語言能力考核。通過實施多元化的評價手段,促進了學生的全面發展。
(六)教學優質化
通過建立多元化的英語教育評價體系,使得英語教學始終在總目標的控制下進行良性運作,形成了富有自身特色的英語教學模式,教師敬業、樂教,敢于創造,學生富有想象,敢于實踐,學習英語的興趣濃厚,學習的方法科學、有效,職校畢業就已經掌握了2200個英語單詞,具有基本的聽說讀寫的交際能力。
